Resources, Links and Citations Help
Citations to Resources in the Text
Research and other material referenced in the text are cited there, in the middle column,
in short form: author’s last name, publication or article name and year, page if relevant.
The complete citation is in the Resources column at the right of the screen. Cases, statutes
and rules are fully cited in both the text and the Resources column. The resources in this column
are divided into categories by type.
PDFs:
Whenever possible, cited resources and references are provided as PDF documents for immediate accessibility.
If a PDF is available, the title of the work is maroon and underlined. PDFs open in either a new window in
Internet Explorer (IE) or a new tab in Firefox. To get back to the course text, check the taskbar across the
bottom of your screen or, if you are using Firefox, switch tabs.
Links:
In some cases the referenced item is on the web but was not available for electronic reprint.
For these items there is a link to another website. If a reference links to another website,
the title of the work is maroon and underlined. Links to external websites open in either a new
window in Internet Explorer (IE) or a new tab in Firefox. To get back to the course text, check
the taskbar across the bottom of your screen or, if you are using Firefox, switch tabs.
There are references in the module text that link to information to other modules. These internal
references are also indicated with maroon lettering and an underline. Links in the module text that
refer to other modules open in the same window. If you click on a link to another module and want to
go back to the module page you were previously reading, use the "Back" button in your browser.
NOTE: Due to the dynamic nature of the web, from time to time links to external websites may cease to
function because the material was moved or pulled from the referenced site. If you find such a link,
please email the web master so that
we can attempt to provide updated information.
If you are unable to see the window that should pop-up, check the top of your screen to see if pop-ups
have been disabled – this is the default setting in Firefox and IE 7. If you click on the yellow bar at
the top of the screen and select "Allow pop-ups for this site" you should be able to see the link.
